If you want to prepare and enjoy authentic Asian cuisine, there's usually no way around rice. It's not only a component of many Asian dishes, but also an integral part of Asian culture and economy. Rice has been cultivated and consumed there across borders for thousands of years. Modern Asian cuisine, which is also enjoyed in Germany, uses rice and rice flour in many dishes.
Farmer's 400g glutinous rice flour makes a great base for many of these dishes. Unlike regular rice flour, glutinous rice flour is made from glutinous rice, not short-grain rice (mochigome). You can use it to make Asian sweets and desserts, such as mochi cakes, filled sesame balls, daifuku, or dishes with Chinese cabbage.
It is made from the very starchy glutinous rice, which is also used for sushi. The rice is washed and ground to produce the flour. Due to the high concentration of rice starch, rice flour is particularly sticky, yet contains no gluten. Glutinous rice flour also contains no fat or sugar.
